HAPPY NEW YEAR!

"EL 2007 HA SIDO EL AÑO DE MAYOR REPRESIÓN CONTRA LAS DAMAS DE BLANCO"...

2007-12-21.

Vamos ganando poco a poco nuestro espacio a nivel internacional.

I am sick and tired......

I hope all of you had a MERRY CHRISTMAS! This year was special since we spent it with family for the first time in years, but one thing irritates me... We all gathered at a relatives house for a good ole fashioned Cuban style lechon! During the festivities this recent arrival from South America tries to LECTURE my father about Cuba and about the United States. Can you imagine this? He goes on how HE has visited Cuba and the very town my dear father is from and PRAISING the apartheid dictatorship and blaming the U.S. for all of Cuba's woes. My father who always has great composure(NOT me!) wen't on to basically school him about how HE is from CUBA, HE was there during the revolution, and how HE and millions of Cubans have had to endure the nightmare of an apartheid dictatorship.

That is the problem, everyone blames the U.S, yet it's the apartheid dictatorship who took power(never voted in) and took away all the FREEDOMS! Who ordered all the executions? Who ordered all those in prison simply for opposing ideas? Who instituted the ration books, Who confiscated personal properties? Who orders the brutal violence against dissidents who march peacefully?

This recent arrival comments on the beauty of this house and how HE wants to have a house like this now, not knowing the hard work and years my relatives have been busting their ass!

If you don't like the United States, then get out and go live in Cuba. Why did you come here?

Meaning of Christmas?

Meaning of Christmas? I am still learning and yearning for the TRUE meaning of Christmas. Yes, our Lord savior was born for us, but over the years myself and many need to be reminded of this message. True sacrifice for others, how many have died or are in prison standing up for FREEDOM and for an entire country! You can't put that in a box or in a Christmas card.

We all are given special gifts! God has blessed me with a beautiful, loving, and most caring(should get bonus points for this!) wife and wonderful children!

What more can I ask for?

I have been blessed with the greatest parents! Always there with a smile and a "how can I help you!" I really don't know how to thank you. God bless you my dear parents!

What more can I ask for?

I have been blessed with an awesome brother! Thanks for sharing the special news with me yesterday. Of all the presents that will be exchanged this Christmas, that was the most special Christmas gift. God Bless you mi hermano!

What more can I ask for? I have been blessed with special friends WHO always stand behind me with support! God bless you my friends!

God, THANK YOU for ALL the special blessings!

.....one more thing God.....can you bless us with a FREE Cuba, not for me, but for the Cuban people, my parents and my family, and for all THOSE who sacrificed so much.

GOD bless you ALL and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas!

To all my family, friends, readers, and fellow bloggers: "Merry Christmas." To the people of Cuba: that all free nations of the world will finally recognize that it's time for FREEDOM and JUSTICE, and finally "FELIZ NAVIDAD"

The Spirit of Christmas

We all have problems and those problems seem to be magnified during the holidays. Yours truly has faced a year of major changes, health issues, and with my career. I have felt that we have been hexed or cursed due to the El Café Cubano blog. How selfish of me! I need to be THANKFUL for what I have been blessed with. It is a time for giving and HELPING those in need!

Nuestro hermano Darío Martinez needs our HELP! He needs a bone narrow transplant, but that’s not all, he just wants to LIVE long enough to see his wife give birth in 3 months. PLEASE find it in your heart to help this family!

Mensaje Dr. Darsi Ferrer

Hola amigos:

No tengo cómo agradecer tanta solidaridad.

Darsi

Slap in the face....

Lap dog Felipe Perez Roque said that apartheid Cuba "WILL" sign the civil rights accord and a few blocks away at the same time, apartheid supporters were harassing with FORCE and SHOUTING down the marchers for human rights.

Again the apartheid dictatorship gets away with brutalizing and intimidating citizens with out any recourse or condemnation from news organizations or other countries?

The spilled blood of the Cuban people is a direct result of the apartheid dictatorship along with those who support this regime and those who choose to look the other way.

Press Release: March against the Apartheid dictatorship in Cuba on Monday December 10th

Havana, November 20, 2007.
We call upon all Cubans to commemorate International Human Rights Day on December 10th, by exercising our right to demonstrate in a PEACEFUL SILENT MARCH as a protest of the immoral and illegal APARTHEID policy imposed by the Cuban government.
It is the duty all people to assume individual responsibility and confront the tragedy facing the nation, to urge political, economic and social changes that benefit EVERYONE, and to facilitate an end to this humiliating situation in which a powerful few violate sovereignty and enjoy privileges all while discriminating against the majority simply because they are citizens.
Governments, institutions, organizations and human beings in general have an obligation to promote respect for fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as ensure their recognition and universal and effective application.
Our appeal, by our participation on that day, will be for the recognition, in every corner of the earth, of the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family.
Never in the history of the nation has there existed such an ANTI-CUBAN government. The current constitution recognizes rights and freedoms for Cubans (Article 42 and 43), the penal code condemns as a felony any application of apartheid (Article 120-1 and 295-1); in practice the two laws are systematically violated by the established official public policy.
Despite the fact that the Cuban government is a member of the newly created United Nations Council for Human Rights, it violates its pledge to be a signatory of the international convention on repression and punishment for the crime of apartheid.
The march will take place at the park located at Calzada between D and E, in El Vedado. The start time for the march will be 11:00 A.M. and will consist of walking around the park, in silence, to avoid any kind of disorder and provocation.
We urge Cubans living outside the island to conduct activities on the 10th of December, at the same hour, in commemoration of this important date, and thus extend their support and solidarity to the march.
We call upon the international organizations dedicated to the defense of human rights to join and contribute by promoting the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the elimination of APARTHEID in Cuba.
In particular, we expect that the authorities of the government of Cuba to ensure order during the march and prevent, on this occasion, abuses by state security apparatus.
Dr. Darsi Ferrer Ramirez, Cuban citizen.
