Urgent appeal from Ladies in White Movement

Havana, Cuba. September 25, 2012

To: Human Rights Organizations Worldwide
To: International Community
To: Amnesty International

The Movement Ladies in White Laura Pollán makes an urgent appeal to all international organizations, democratic governments and all people around the world who love freedom, democracy and human rights. We must all cry out with all the force of reason demanding the unconditional respect for fundamental freedoms in Cuba and a stop to all the violations of human rights in the island.

From September 21 – 24, the Ladies in White Movement has been a victim of the violence of the Cuban government and of its repressive forces (National Police, State Security and paramilitary mobs). More than 64 Ladies in White were arrested, deported, beaten and even disappeared, to prevent our participation in the monthly “Literary Tea” and in other activities we tried to hold, all of a religious nature.

Below and also attached to this note is a list per day of the Ladies in White who were arrested
