Breaking news from Cuba-Friday Fast for ALL Political Prisoners and for a FREE Cuba

For years El Cafe Cubano and many others have fasted on fridays as a small gesture in honor of ALL those who have sacrificed so much in the struggle for a FREE Cuba! The Friday fast will begin again this Friday!

Will you join us?
Will the Catholic Church join us?
Will the Cuban Catholic Church join us?

My fellow FREEDOM fighters their have been some misconceptions concerning the fast. First: "Do I have to fast all day?" No! the fast is just being conducted on Friday mornings. You can set your hours and how far you want to take this! El Café Cubano is just calling for a simple gesture! These political prisoners are the true heroes and they are willing to die for FREEDOM! This is a time for unity not division. Is this to much to ask in support of the political prisoners?Political prisoners languish in prison in apartheid Cuba and the media ignores their struggles and cause. We must not forget our brothers and show them signs that we are with them and support them!Let’s show the world, better yet let’s show our brothers and sisters in apartheid Cuba that we are behind them!
Fast it forward my FREEDOM-loving brethren!
I will leave with this:

52 years of misery,
caused by a diabolical tyranny,
why must the Cuban people continue to suffer?
Others have been oppressed,
why then do they get all the press?
My God, my God, why have you forsaken us?
Our faith, endurance, and confidence continually test us!
All we ask is for Cuba to be FREE,
Is that to much of your flock to ask of thee?
Just as Our Lady has asked us to fast and pray,
we come to your arms dear Lord looking for that DAY!!!!!

"Miami New Times" has written an article about Gustavo Villoldo entitled "He Buried Che". It might interest the readers of your blog.

Here is a link:

Thank you for your time!

Alfredo, glad to find out about your innitiative. Some thoughts: a fast should have a method and a goal. Part of the method you propose is clear: fast friday mornings as best you can. But some fasts try to call public attention on a situation, and that is part of the goal. How do you propose to do that?
There is another type of fast where the public attention aspect doesn't come into play, it's the case of a religiously based fast.In faith you join, by means of the fast, those who suffer and intecede for them.
In both cases the end goal is freedom and peace. The person of faith thinks that ultimately God is the only one who can give peace and freedom. I will try to help out in the second category.

Thanks for your kind words and for your suggestions! This simple Fast started several years to bring attention to the plight of the political prisoners in Cuba and to show the political prisoners that we have not forgotten. NOW this does have the religious aspect that hopefully our creator will see and hear our prayers and finally FREE Cuba, if that´s his will. YOUR RIGHT, the ultimate goal is that of peace and FREEDOM and YES I NEED YOUR HELP to spread the word and join the FAST,the simple gesture could one day help with our cause.
Now this cause(FREEDOM for Cuba) has generally been totally ignored by the media and by many who simply don´t care or don´t want Cuba to be FREE

Get ready amigos. The end of the Cuban Castro fiasco is rapidly approaching. Just one spark is all that it will take.

My word for the Castro gang is, "betrayal."
