The Silence is Deafening

CB at Killcastro and Ziva at Blog for Cuba again are the only ones speaking out for the balseros among the deafening silence. The Democracy Movement held a vigil and protest yesterday, but can you find anything in the media? No, nothing, nada, zilch! Nothing in English and in Spanish. Univision has a whole section dedicated to immigration, but nothing concerning Wet/Dry foot policy. I know this makes many uncomfortable and many will squirm, but let's tell it like it is. Univision and other Spanish media here in the U.S. are solely interested in pleasing a certian market: Mexican. Even with the studio in Miami, you would think some stories would be about Cubans, Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Venezuelans, Bolivians, etc..., and oh yeah the balseros.

Alfredo you are 100% correct, there is absolutely nothing on this, anywhere. For a matter of fact, I went to Miami Herald's website, nothing. So I did a search there for "Cubans picked up on 7 mile bridge" and nothing.Google.com, nothing. Then I clicked "the web" and it has your blog there, that is it! This is crazy!! This one got by, on almost all of us, but that's why we are all connected. I started an article about this "Bullshit Policy" last night, after I saw your post and will be publishing it next weekend. I have to get all the facts and documentations together, I'm having problems though, finding the actual "Wet Feet/Dry Feet Policy" on all the governmental websites, it's like it doesn't exist, very wierd. I did find "Cuba-U.S. Migration Accord" which was created right after, here: http://www.state.gov/www/regions/wha/cuba/fs_000828_migration_accord.html. If Castro is breaking that law then why should we enforce the "Wet Feet/Dry Feet Policy". Jose Reyes (Cubanology.com)
